Fast elite training. Autonomous education has finally arrived.

About

Make Australia the most resilient and innovative nation in the Indo-Pacific.

What we do

Train the operators Australia’s critical industries need. In months, not years, with a direct pathway into work.

Vision

Forge the people and build the technologies that matter for the next 100 years of Australia’s future.

The 2035 Goal

100,000 operators · 100 new industries

What we believe.

Eight principles. They decide what we build, who we hire and how we work.

01

Courage

Do difficult things. Take responsibility for the outcome.

02

Meritocracy

Ability matters more than credentials, status or background.

03

Non-conformity

The conventional answer is not necessarily the right one.

04

Openness

Share ideas. Challenge assumptions.

05

Pursuit of truth

Reality wins. Evidence matters. Wishful thinking does not.

06

Freedom of thought

Good ideas can come from anywhere. No idea gets a free pass.

07

Curiosity

Keep asking why. Go deeper than the obvious answer.

08

Greatness

Australia should aim higher than being good enough.

The industries that will shape the next 100 years are being built now.

The technologies that will decide Australia’s security and prosperity. Each one needs a workforce that doesn’t exist yet.

  • Aerospace
  • Autonomous systems
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Energy
  • Advanced manufacturing
  • Biotechnology
  • Critical infrastructure
  • Quantum
  • Critical minerals & processing
  • Nuclear & maritime
  • Cyber & secure comms
  • Semiconductors & compute
  • Brain–computer interfaces
  • And the ones that don’t exist yet.

Universities weren’t built for this.

Universities and training systems were built for a different economy. They don’t prepare people for industries that barely existed a decade ago, or the ones yet to come. NOUSIA was built to change that.

The people building it.

Our team has been on the ground floor of billion-dollar companies, architected national space agencies, built frontier university departments from scratch and worked on highly sensitive missions. Join NOUSIA and you’ll work alongside them.

How we work.

A small team, in person in Melbourne, building the fastest path into Australia’s most important industries. Here’s what we expect of ourselves and each other.

The culture is ambitious, curious, and genuinely enjoyable to be part of.

How we hire: expect to do real work. We will give you a problem to solve and see your approach.

We lead with empathy and humility, and everyone’s here because they believe in the mission. When the evidence says we’re wrong, we change course — no ego attached.

It’s a meritocracy in the truest sense: the best idea wins, regardless of who it came from. We move fast and ship daily, using agents to multiply what each person can get done. Priorities shift quickly, and the pace reflects that.

We work together in person, five days a week, from our Melbourne office.

If you want room to think, enjoy hard problems, and want colleagues who hold themselves — and each other — to a high standard, we’d like to hear from you.

Density over headcount

A small team of exceptional people. We hire to a high bar and expect high agency and ownership from everyone.

One team, one game

Show up ready. Put in the work. Back each other up. Bring energy to the office and don’t shy away from the unglamorous tasks.

Speed over perfection

A good decision made quickly beats a perfect one made too late. We use AI to move faster and lift the bar on quality.

Experiment, measure, repeat

Approach initiatives as experiments. Know what success looks like, measure against it, and lean into what’s working.

Signal over noise

Outcomes matter, not activity. Communicate clearly and stay focused on what actually moves the needle.

Sustainable intensity

We push hard, but use good judgment to avoid burnout, so the pace is one we can sustain and keep building on.

Join us.

Hard problems, a small team, and work that will matter for the next 100 years. If that sounds like you, we’d like to hear from you.
